The transformation wheel: accelerating the right decisions
For Exquando, the success of a project depends first
and foremost on the implementation of a project
governance system that puts people at the centre.
At the beginning of every successful transformation, there is a mission or an ambition. In our information management activity, the mission often is “that everyone has access to reliable and relevant information so that the right decisions can be made and the project can be completed within budget and timeframe.”
Around this mission a clan is formed. It includes all those who have power or an interest in the mission at stake – typically representatives of IT services, users of the systems as well as consumers of the information.

This clan makes a pact over the mission. This pact is a governance in the sense that it answers the question “how do we do it?”. The answer is at first “together – that’s all.” Then an organisation and a way of operating are defined. From that moment on, everyone is connected to each other, knows that they need others and that others need them. The clan now functions as a whole.
What will make life easier within this clan are shared values. In our information management activity, transparency is the basis. Other important values are a sense of progress, humility and goodwill, and the quest for win-win relationships.
When a clan that is united by a pact shares common values, it will develop trust, a true source of oxygen for social bonds.
Trust unleashes free expression and creativity. It generates the exchange which will be the basis of collective intelligence and a learning organisation.
That’s when the best decisions are made.
The progress will naturally flow from these better decisions. It is the consequence of a process of building trust in the course of a mission.
This is why, when on a mission, the Exquando teams always ensure:
- The clarity of the mission
- Good representation of stakeholders
- Project governance
- The shared values
